As a small business, I used to dread looking at my numbers. It is often encouraging to see us growing month to month, but our expenses are usually through the roof and this sometimes get me down.
ever since we launched our 1 pair = 1 meal campaign, I've never been more excited to look at my numbers, and yes, we are sometimes still very much in the red, but I think about how many meals we have donated to some of the world's poorest children and I have a new found determination to invest every ounce of energy and every penny I have to give to grow our small business.
Between July 1 and October 31, we collected funds to donate 3348 school meals to some of the world's poorest children through Mary's Meals.
To date, since launching this initiative in June, we have donated 3864 school meals.
What does this mean? How has this changed lives? To give our biggest supporters (i.e., you) more insight on the impact your purchase has, we are sharing some of the incredible stories from the organization that serves these children - Mary's Meals
On a good day, it takes Sarah three hours to walk to school. She arrives tired and hungry, eagerly awaiting her morning mug of porridge.
I’m shy about saying this, but before Mary’s Meals arrived, I used to skip school because of hunger. I was too tired to concentrate in class, so I would go looking for food.
I really enjoy the porridge. It sustains me and helps me work. School makes me happy. I want to be a teacher one day. I dream of building my parents a house.

None of this would be possible if it were not for our loyal customer base, who not only choose to purchase our socks for the comfort, quality and safety but also to support our mission to feed children who are going to school hungry or cannot go to school because of hunger.
