Why Choose GOTS Certified Organic Garments?

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is the strictest organic certification for textiles, covering the entire supply chain, not just the cotton fibre. Here's what that means for your activewear:

    • No synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. Better for farmers, soil, and your skin.
    • No harsh chemicals. No chlorine bleach, formaldehyde, or azo dyes used in dyeing or finishing.
    • Hypoallergenic and breathable. Soft on sensitive skin, with airflow that synthetics can't match.
    • Ethically made. Fair labour standards enforced from farm to finished garment.

How This Collection Came To Be

“Working out has always helped me reset and keep my sanity. I work out 5–6 times a week, sometimes in clothing made from 100% plastic because I can't find an alternative.

Every Q for Quinn product begins with that search for something safer and more natural. This collection is no different; it’s a passion project made to support how we all move and live.

Move Naturally by Quinn carries our core values of thoughtful materials, safety, comfort, and quality, while stepping boldly into new territory: activewear designed for real life.”

    Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful information before choosing the right bra.

    What is non-toxic activewear?

Non-toxic activewear is workout clothing made without the harmful chemicals commonly found in conventional athletic wear, including PFAS ("forever chemicals"), BPA, phthalates, formaldehyde finishes, and azo dyes. Most polyester and nylon activewear on the market contains one or more of these chemicals, which absorb through skin faster when you sweat. GOTS-certified organic cotton activewear is one of the cleanest options available because the certification prohibits these chemicals at every stage of production.

Is organic cotton activewear actually better than polyester or nylon?

For most workouts, yes. Organic cotton is breathable, absorbent, and free from the PFAS, BPA, and microplastic shedding that comes with synthetic activewear. For low-to-medium intensity training, it's a cleaner and more comfortable option. For long-distance running or high-heat cardio, you may want moisture-wicking synthetics as a backup.

Will cotton workout clothes make me overheat?

Actually, the opposite. Cotton is one of the most breathable natural fibres and helps regulate body temperature by absorbing sweat and letting air circulate. Synthetics trap heat and moisture against the skin, which is why polyester workout clothes often feel hot and clingy after 20 minutes.

Do organic cotton workout clothes smell less than synthetic ones?

Yes. Synthetic fabrics like polyester trap odour-causing bacteria in the fibres, which is why polyester workout clothes can smell even after washing. Cotton releases odour more easily in the wash and doesn't need antimicrobial chemical finishes to stay fresh.

Are your workout clothes suitable for postpartum, pregnancy, or nursing?

Yes. Organic cotton is one of the most recommended fabrics for pregnancy and postpartum because it's breathable, gentle on stretched or sensitive skin, and free from chemicals that can irritate hormonally-changing skin. Our sports bras and higher-rise pieces work well during and post pregnancy.

Do the biker shorts ride up or fall down?

Our biker shorts are made with a small percentage of elastane and reinforced stitching to keep them in place during movement. The waistband is wide and doesn't dig in. For the best fit, check the size chart on each product page rather than defaulting to your usual size, as organic cotton fits differently than synthetic activewear.

How is your non-toxic activewear made without PFAS and BPA?

We work exclusively with GOTS certified facilities, and GOTS explicitly prohibits PFAS, BPA, formaldehyde, and other harmful finishes throughout dyeing and finishing. Where most activewear brands rely on chemical coatings for stretch, water resistance, or performance’, we design around cleaner alternatives.

Can I wear this collection outside of workouts?

Yes, and we designed it that way. The apparel and sports bras all work as everyday wear, loungewear, and layering pieces. Cotton doesn't have the plasticky feel that keeps synthetic activewear from crossing over into daily outfits.

How should I wash my organic cotton activewear?

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Tumble dry low or air dry. Skip fabric softeners, as they coat fibres and reduce breathability. Avoid hot water and hot dryers, which can shrink cotton and break down the small amount of elastane over time.

    Will my activewear shrink?

Slight shrinkage is normal after the first wash, especially in 100% cotton pieces, because organic cotton hasn't been chemically treated to prevent it. Our sizing accounts for a small amount of expected shrinkage. To minimize it further, wash cold and air dry when possible.
